Journey with us to the stars as Dr. Sarah Stewart Johnson discusses her book, The Sirens of Mars, which interweaves a telling of the history of Martian exploration with her own journey as a planetary scientist. Dr. Joshua Bennett will also perform new poetry honoring Dr. Mae Jamison, a former NASA astronaut and the first Black woman to travel in space.
Then take a tour of the night sky in the portable planetarium, and get a chance to win stunning astrophotography by Upper School Science Faculty Jamison Smith.

Harvard Professor Juliette Kayyem — an international leader in crisis management and homeland security, a national security analyst, and an author — will join us for the next installment of the Thayer Global Speaker Series.
Professor Kayyem will join Thayer Scholar-in-Residence Dr. Timothy McCarthy in conversation as she shares her insights on rethinking approaches to disaster preparedness and response, which is the subject of her most recent book The Devil Never Sleeps: Learning to Live in an Age of Disasters.
