Thayer is unique because of its community. Every teacher, classmate, and coach I’ve met has genuinely cared about me and taken the time to get to know me on a deeper level. Thayer’s supportive community fosters self-growth and emphasizes the importance of growing and learning together.

I intend to double major in business and psychology at Northeastern through their Honors Program. I decided to go to Northeastern because it provided me with the opportunity to pursue my different interests.

Ms. Hefler’s AP English Language & Composition class challenged me the most because it exposed me to a new way of thinking and taught me the importance of winning together.

Most people don’t know that I plan to participate in Army ROTC in college and serve my country.

Thayer has prepared me for success by shaping me into the confident individual I am today. Thayer’s emphasis on public speaking and providing the space to pursue one’s interests, no matter how different they might be, has stayed with me and will continue to guide how I approach my further education.

I can watch Ratatouille over and over again, and it never gets old. I know that it's a children’s movie, but it is also my comfort film.

Whether helping me find times in my schedule to meet with them for additional help or just taking the time to talk to me and get to know my passions and plans, all my teachers have made my Thayer experience very memorable.

The college counseling office and, most importantly, my college counselor, Ms. Woods, have helped me from the very first stages of making my college list to helping me make my final decision. I couldn’t have done this without her support.

My grandparents inspire me with their courage, humility, and love. Their wisdom, rooted in cultural traditions and experiences, continues to guide me and reminds me daily of the strength in patience, the importance of fighting for one's dreams, and staying connected to one’s roots.

The Senior Walk, when I made my way through the crowds of underclassmen and teachers, surrounded by my friends, is a cherished memory. It was a perfect moment of reflection as I thanked those in the Thayer community who have shaped me into the individual I am today.

My friends, teachers, and coaches have always been my biggest cheerleaders. Especially as I was going through the college process and applying for the Army ROTC, there were moments when I doubted if I was smart enough or strong enough. Through every moment of doubt, my friends and teachers were the constants with whom I could share my worries, and they always pushed me to keep going.

While it isn’t an official tradition, during the final weeks of spring, everyone sits outside on the Teardrop, plays Spikeball, and enjoys the warmth. Sitting outside with my friends and looking at the clock tower, especially during the final weeks of senior year, filled me with so much gratitude and gave me the time to soak in how lucky I was to be surrounded by my friends and classmates.
