India Trip Application
We are happy to announce that we will offer another trip to India this year in conjunction with our sister school, the CHIREC School. This sister-school exchange program has been in existence for over a decade, and it provides students an opportunity to engage with the people and culture of the world's second-most-populous nation and tenth-largest economy. The CHIREC School is located in Hyderabad, India, the country's second-leading technology center.
The trip will last 11 days; the group, accompanied by two Thayer chaperones, will leave on Friday, December 27, 2019, and fly to Delhi where it will spend four days covering the famous Golden Triangle (Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur). The group will then fly to Hyderabad to spend the remainder of the time with our sister school and its host families. The group will return home on Tuesday, January 7, 2020.
The cost of the trip is $3,600. Thayer Academy does have some funds available to offer limited financial assistance for school trips to those students who are already receiving financial assistance. Eligible students interested in applying for financial assistance should fill out the separate application below. Application for financial assistance should be submitted at the same time as the application for the trip. Mr. Koskores will respond to each request in a timely fashion.
Please Note: In cases where assistance is offered, it will be 10-20% less than is offered for tuition assistance. Typically a student is eligible only once for such assistance while he/she is in Middle School and once while in Upper School.
- Wednesday, October 9: Trip Application Due and Financial Aid Request Deadline
- Wednesday, October 16: Deposit of $1,500 (check payable to Thayer Academy, with “India Trip” written in the memo). Please drop off or mail check directly toThayer's Business Office. Please note that a registration fee of $200 cannot be reimbursed after this date.
- Friday, November 8: Balance due ($2,100).
The cost of this trip is based on all participants submitting their full payment and traveling with the group. However, if extenuating circumstances prevent this, the Academy will make every effort to refund the family as much as possible, taking into consideration the costs that we are unable to recoup.
We are looking forward to traveling with you! Please call or email us if you have any questions.
