In the event of rain, ceremonies will be held in Alumni Gym.

Congratulations to all 137 graduating seniors in the Class of 2024.

Football Gear Distribution Date is June 10
Attention, football players: All current 8th grade football players — as well as any Upper School student who could not make this week's fitting — should attend the alternative distribution date of Monday, June 10, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Student Commons.

New players are welcome! Direct any questions to Coach Toussaint.

Summer Reading and SORA!
Southworth Library staff members remind the Thayer community that all of the library's summer reading titles (minus its world language titles) will be available to read for free on SORA this summer. Use the SORA app or go online to search for titles.

Please contact Southworth Library Director Amy Perry with any questions. Happy summer, and happy reading!

Fall 2024 Team Stores Open Until June 11
Thayer Academy sport-specific team stores are currently open for sport-specific team gear and will remain open until Tuesday, June 11. After that date, team store orders will no longer be possible.

Student-athletes and their families should please note: These stores are completely optional. While some coaches have gear that they are “highly recommending,” the items are not required. Furthermore, purchasing or not purchasing from a team store will have zero bearing as to whether or not a student-athlete makes a certain team. This is just an option for students and families to buy sport-specific gear.

All gear will ship to Thayer and be stored in the equipment room over the summer. Student-athletes will be able to pick up their gear on the first day of sports in the fall. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Equipment Manager Tyler Watters

Homecoming 2024 Committee
Homecoming is TAPA’s largest event of the year, bringing together the entire Thayer community for a fun-filled day of spirit and socialization. There's something for everyone in the family. In addition to cheering on Thayer’s sports teams, there are games, a bake sale, a cornhole tournament, a petting zoo, food trucks, snacks and the ever-popular sale of exclusive Thayer merchandise. Homecoming will take place Saturday, Sept. 28.

Have you ever thought about being a part of Homecoming planning? It takes the whole Thayer community to make this event a success, and it all starts with the planning committee. There's a blueprint for the entire event, but there's also an opportunity to put a new spin on things.

TAPA is currently recruiting for the Homecoming 2024 Committee, including two chairs to lead the team. Positions include:

  • Homecoming: Two lead chairs
  • Bake Sale: One additional co-chair
  • Games/Decor/Spirit Table: One additional co-chair
  • Cornhole: Two co-chairs

Grab a friend and join the team! To learn more or to volunteer, contact TAPA President Kim Millian P ‘26.

Become a Host Family for an International Student
Unlock a world of cultural exchange from the comfort of your own home by hosting an international student for the 2024-25 school year. Open your doors to new friendships, perspectives, and experiences while providing a nurturing foundation for an international student to thrive. Host families provide a private bedroom, three meals per day, and transportation to and from school each day. Students arrive about one week before the first day of school and stay with hosts throughout the school year. Opportunities for short-term hosting are also available. Host families receive a monthly stipend and around-the-clock homestay support. Know someone that would make an excellent host family? Cambridge Network offers a $500 referral bonus.

Curious? Learn more by watching this 20-minute host info session. If interested in this opportunity, please visit homestay.cambridgenetwork.com or reach out to the host recruitment manager directly at Leanna.Glass@cambridgenetwork.com or 609.222.4362.

Thanks From a Grateful TAPA
A huge Tiger thank-you to the countless volunteers who have helped TAPA throughout the year. It truly takes a village of people to run, host, and manage the various events that TAPA puts on. From Homecoming to SeniorFest and every presentation, luncheon, craft project, merchandise sale, and affinity group in between, Thayer wouldn’t be the community it is today without all of your help!

Thank you and happy summer.
