Middle School students address topic of financial literacy

Thayer Academy Middle School students made their voices heard recently during a visit to the Massachusetts State House in Boston.
As part of the Middle School's Generation Citizen activity coordinated by MS History Dept. Head Danny Seymour, students attended "Civics Day" at the State House just before Winter Recess. There, they presented on the topic of financial literacy education to a variety of judges.
Generation Citizen, which sponsored the event, is an action-based, student-led civics program. The curriculum was implemented in all Grade 8 classes last year and is a Social Studies elective this year.
Students attending the event were: Nicole Joffee '23, Daniel Cherry '23, Judy Wang '23, Alena Mulhern '23, and Conor Mannion '23.
