Kathleen Boyle to coach Thayer Field Hockey

Thayer Academy announces that Kathleen Boyle will be the new varsity field hockey head coach for the fall 2020 season.

"We're really excited about this," said Athletics Director Rick Foresteire P '19, '21, who touted Boyle's enthusiasm, experience, and organizational skills. "She brings a lot to the table."

Boyle is the founder and director of True Grit Field Hockey Club, which offers skills training and/or club-level gameplay for levels U8 through U19 throughout the South Shore. She serves as head coach of the club's U14-U19 teams and oversees its youth development programming.

At Dartmouth High School, Boyle captained the school's only Division 1 state champion field hockey team and earned induction into that school's athletic hall of fame.

Boyle then attended Dartmouth College, where she earned her bachelor's degree and was a four-year starter for the Division 1 Ivy League field hockey team.

Boyle seeks "to inspire competitive, skilled, passionate athletes who develop leadership, character, confidence, and teamwork through student-athlete experiences." She lives in Scituate with her husband Terry and their three children.
