Thayer Academy’s chapter of the Cum Laude Society recently inducted 26 members of the Class of 2021.
This significant honor is restricted to no more than 20 percent of the senior class and recognizes outstanding academic achievement. Senior inductees are:

These new Cum Laude Society members were recognized during an April 26 school meeting followed by an April 27 recognition celebration attended by the inductees and their family members.
The objective of the Cum Laude Society is to promote learning and sound scholarship in secondary schools. The Society was founded in 1906 to recognize the scholastic achievement of seniors in those schools. The Thayer Academy chapter of the Cum Laude Society received its charter in 1930 and has been inducting students for the last 90 years. Each chapter of the Cum Laude Society may elect up to 20% of the graduating class who have demonstrated academic excellence in a college preparatory curriculum.
The Cum Laude Committee consists of: US Science Faculty Dr. Paula Collins P ‘10, ‘21; US English Faculty Betsy Bloom; US Math Faculty Derek Keough ‘21; US Director Highley Thompson P ‘20, ‘23; and US Math & Computer Science Faculty Kevin Cedrone P ‘22, ‘27.
