Thayer’s Sullivan part of women’s lacrosse championship for Boston Guard

Thayer parent Tracey Sullivan P ‘32 is currently an assistant coach for Thayer’s girls varsity lacrosse team, but she’s also an assistant coach for the Boston Guard, the professional women’s lacrosse team that recently earned the inaugural World Lacrosse League championship.

As reported by ABC affiliate 7 News DC, the Guard defeated the New York Charging 22-17 in the inaugural WLL championship game held Feb. 17 at The St. James in Springfield, Virginia.

“It was hands down the most incredible lacrosse experience of my life,” said Sullivan, who also serves as director of the Laxachusetts Girls Club Lacrosse Program. “The culture the WLL created was so special. The Boston Guard players and staff were so determined to win the first-ever championship. It was an opportunity I’ll treasure forever.”

For the Guard, Sullivan is the assistant to head coach Laurie Deluca. Here at Thayer, she is one of three assistants — the others being Liz Rotanz and Katie Currie — under head coach Anni Zukauskas ‘94 P ‘28, ‘29.

Sullivan, who joined Thayer’s lacrosse program in 2019, played lacrosse at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where, among other accolades, she earned Third Team All-American honors. She has coached lacrosse at the collegiate level at both UMass Amherst and Boston University.
