Thayer Students Take the Plunge for Special Olympics

Team Thayer, a group of Thayer students who participated in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge at Nantasket Beach, raised more than $2,000 to support the great work of Special Olympics Massachusetts. The team earned the award for raising the most funds out of any other school in Massachusetts — the third straight year it has been so honored.

The annual event, which this year took place Feb. 28, supports Special Olympics athletes and helps to promote inclusion, acceptance, and community through sport.

This year’s squad was led by four captains — Ryan Dowden ’26, Shay Kellin ’26, Bridget Farley ‘26, and Allie Mingolelli ’28 — who all donned Tiger costumes in the spirit of the day.
