Ten Senior Student-Athletes Share College Choices

Students filled the Memorial Gym bleachers March 26 as 10 Thayer senior student-athletes shared their college choices in a well-attended after-school ceremony.

“This is honestly one of my favorite days of the year,” Athletic Director Bobbi Moran told the crowd, which also included the proud families of the student-athletes as well as faculty and staff who mostly lined the near wall of the gym. Moran said the day provides the opportunity to salute the seniors on their academic and athletic excellence. In addition, she said, it offers the chance to recognize the families and the community members who supported the student-athletes on their particular journeys.

The relaxed but energetic event saw student-athletes sit for photographs accompanied by the appropriate swag from their various colleges. After that, several more photographs were taken with family members, coaches, teammates, and friends, among others.

“Congratulations, ladies and gentlemen,” Moran told the seniors. “We’re so proud of you guys.”
