Student-athletes recognized for college commitments

Thayer Academy recognized a dozen senior student-athletes and their collegiate sport commitments today (Thursday, May 2) during an after-school ceremony in Memorial Gym. 

Outfitted in the swag of their chosen colleges, the student-athletes were joined by proud family members, teammates, classmates, coaches, faculty, staff, and school administrators in a series of photographs celebrating an accomplishment years in the making. 

“These student-athletes have worked incredibly hard both in the classroom and on their playing fields to be able to take this next step and play their respective sports at the collegiate level,” said Athletic Director Bobbi Moran. 

The following seniors and their collegiate choices were recognized at the celebration: 

Josephine Brown, who will play hockey at Endicott College. 

Kyle Dargie, who will compete in track & field at Brown University. 

Lauren Grattan, who will play soccer and compete in track & field at Trinity College. 

Jackson Henehan, who will play lacrosse at Harvard University. 

Finbar Holland, who will play lacrosse at Union College. 

Scott Igo, who will play baseball at Trinity College. 

Conrad Langenhagen, who will play lacrosse at Union College. 

Malachi McClean, who will play football at Nichols College. 

Martin Nyagilo, who will compete in track & field at Springfield College. 

Summer Perry, who will play field hockey at Wheaton College. 

Leonard “Lenny” Tangishaka, who will play basketball at Assumption College. 

Carter Wright, who will play baseball at Grinnell College.
