National Signing Day: Thayer student-athletes announce college choices

The Thayer community celebrated 16 student-athletes today (Wednesday, Nov. 13) as they signed their National Signing Day Agreements in a joy-filled Memorial Gym.

Family, friends, teammates, classmates, faculty, and staff cheered on as each senior, bedecked in the swag of their chosen college or university, made their decisions official. While the signatures only took seconds, the National Signing Day agreements represent years of hard work and sacrifice on the part of each student-athlete.

“What a humbling experience it is to see so many students, athletes, coaches, families, and friends in attendance,” said Athletic Director Bobbi Moran. “It’s a tremendous testament to Thayer Academy and the support that our student-athletes receive, as well as the amazing athletic experience in the school’s varsity teams and programs.”

“It was an honor to be a part of today’s ceremony for Division I and II NCAA commits, and we look forward to celebrating Ivy League and Division III commitments in the spring.

“I am so proud of each and every one of our student-athletes for their tireless dedication and commitment to Thayer. Congratulations to each of them, their families, teammates, coaches, academic advisors, and other faculty and staff who have all supported them on their journeys to this point. We look forward to following their experience in college and beyond!”
