Middle School Talent Show fun for all - for the 25th year

The 2023 Middle School Talent Show proved a great success as students from all four grades shared a variety of talents. Some faculty members even added their own skills to the mix.

Held Dec. 19 in Thompson Hall, the show lasted just over one hour, and everyone left with a smile and at least one song living rent-free in their head.

“It’s such a fun way to end the school day as we head into the winter break,” said Middle School Academic Dean and Math Chair Andy Gibson P ‘21, ‘22, ‘25.

And Gibson should know; the recent event marked the silver anniversary of the Middle School Talent Show, and Gibson has helped to organize 24 of those 25 shows. Fun fact: Digital Media Coordinator Emmett Knox ‘04 and Middle School Choral Director Jeff King ‘04 participated in that inaugural talent show all those years ago.

This time around, however, Knox and King joined Gibson as part of the organizing crew along with Middle School CDL Director Marie Jimenez, Middle School World Languages Faculty Javonna Corbin, and Middle School Theater Director Tara Corcoran ‘88 P ‘19.

Tommy Lally ‘28 and Junior Conover ‘28 served as emcees for the show, which kicked off with a TATV (Thayer Academy Television) rap battle.
