Celebrating Generosity: Thayer Academy’s 28th Annual General’s Council Reception

Thayer Academy recently celebrated its 28th Annual General’s Council Reception on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. in the Southworth Library.

Hosted by the trustees of Thayer Academy and Head of School Chris Fortunato P ’26, ’28, the event brought together leadership donors for an evening recognizing their generosity and the impact of their contributions to the school. Guests enjoyed drinks and food prepared by The Catered Affair, contributing to an elegant and welcoming atmosphere.

Festive black-and-orange attire enhanced the sense of community and pride as attendees connected, celebrated, and reflected on another remarkable year of support for Thayer Academy. Chief Advancement & Engagement Officer Melissa Tuthill Forger ‘92 P ‘25, ‘28, ‘29, emphasized the importance of this collective generosity, saying, “Taking a moment to celebrate the success of last year’s fundraising, in community with those who made our record breaking success possible, was the perfect way to head into the season of thanks. I am so grateful to the Thayer community for continuing to help lift up our great school and look forward to continuing to build on this exciting momentum.”

A special note of appreciation is extended to the board members who attended, as well as to two outstanding student contributors. Grace Deng ’29 offered a beautiful piano performance that set a warm and refined tone for the evening, while Ana Sullivan ’27 delivered a thoughtful and insightful talk on OCD—an address she had previously shared as a TA Talk with the Upper School—providing valuable perspective and encouraging reflection among guests.

Thayer Academy remains deeply grateful for the generosity and engagement of its community, whose commitment continues to strengthen the school and its mission.
