Assembly wraps up winter sports season
Thayer Academy’s Upper School held its sports assembly March 6 in the CFA’s Hale Theater to celebrate its winter athletics season.
Coaches were on hand to share the stories of their seasons, both successes and challenges, as well as recognize the efforts of their student-athletes, particularly the leadership of seniors. The coaches were also there to present Coaches’ Award, MVP, ISL, and NEPSAC honors to individuals who’d earned those accolades.
“Congratulations to all of our Winter Tigers on a job well done,” said Athletic Director Bobbi Moran. “We look forward to warmer weather and the opportunity to celebrate the spring season in May.”

Please Note: At this year’s NEPSAC Div. II Championships at WPI in Worcester, Peyton Knightly ‘24 became New England champion in the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle, breaking her own school record in the 200.

Please Note: In the Graves-Kelsey ISL Championships, Thayer had four medalists: Gibson Akoh ‘23, in second place; Drew St. St. Pierre ‘26, in third place; and William Kourafas ‘23 and Ryan Lally ‘26, in fourth place. In the New Englands, two Thayer wrestlers made the podium: Gibson Akoh ‘23, in fifth place; and Ryan Lally ‘26, in seventh place. Gibson Akoh ‘23 qualified for and competed in the 87th annual National Prep Wrestling Championships in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
