What truly makes Thayer unique is the community. I chose my college based on my Thayer experience. I want the same sense of community and belonging that I’ve felt over the past seven years in all the activities I’ve been part of.

I will attend Boston College and major in psychology.

The most challenging class I took at Thayer was AP Calculus AB senior year with my dad, aka Mr. Cedrone. Although the class was very hard, I enjoyed the experience and the new friendships and skills that came from it. Most importantly, I learned that it is not possible for me to succeed without doing the daily hard work.

I am a licensed US Soccer referee. I am licensed to referee up to the adult amateur and semi-pro levels including MLSNext, the highest level of youth soccer in the United States.

Thayer allowed me to expand my skill set through involvement in many different activities — academics, arts, and athletics. Being involved in these activities at a high level at Thayer has set me up for success in whatever path I choose. 

I’m not much of a movie watcher now. But when I was a kid, I used to watch portions of the Cars movie every single night before I went to bed. 

Thayer’s College Counseling Office was paramount in my college application journey. I was accepted at my dream school because of Ms. Woods’ constant help and advice. I could not have done it without her.

My dad, a teacher at Thayer, inspires me. He has been teaching here since I was born. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to see how many lives he’s impacted. Even though I don’t want to teach, I still want to go into a field where I can make positive change in the world because of what I’ve seen him do.

During my Law and Society class as we prepared for the mock trial competitions. Mr. Maloney went above and beyond with our team every day after school for two weeks to prepare for the competitions. I’ve been inspired to continue with law after high school because of Mr. Maloney’s dedication and enthusiasm for the subject. 

My walk-up song would be “Eye of the Tiger” because it’s played at Thayer all the time. It would bring back many great Thayer memories.

My favorite meal is definitely the Super Bowl lunch. Unfortunately, we haven't had one since freshman year, but I still look back on it with fond memories. Nothing beats it.

My favorite memory of Thayer is the jazz combo concerts. I’ve been so fortunate to be involved in Thayer’s music program, which is like no other school I’ve seen. It’s basically a rock concert with many students in the audience cheering on those performing on the stage. The jazz combo concerts are one of the best experiences I’ve ever been a part of.
