Lower Camp
- Weekly from June 20 through August 11; $395/week
- For ages 3.9 to 5 years old
- 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Camp Thayer’s Lower Camp features activities that are scaled to size for young children, with a staff-to-child ratio of 1:5. Kids in this program enjoy a set schedule of activities, and remain with their groups and counselors throughout the day.
General Camp
- Weekly from June 20 through August 11; $515/week
- For ages 6 to 13 years old
- 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Extended Day options are available
At Camp Thayer’s General Camp, children enjoy a variety of activities and are grouped with other campers their age. Groups are co-ed for grades 1 - 6. To encourage free expression and a sense of unity, girls and boys entering grades 7 and 8 are placed in single-sex groups. All activities provide kids with opportunities for new experiences or with time to spend on a favorite interest.
CIT Program
- Weekly from June 20 through August 11; $335/week
- For ages 14 to 15 years old (limit 15)
- 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
CITs (Counselors in Training) are assigned to groups or activities as apprentices to the head and senior counselors. Participants develop leadership and interpersonal skills. As part of their training, CITs get a working knowledge of the many activities and program areas offered by Camp Thayer. An interview and references are required. Candidates should submit an application, then contact Jacob Spedden (jspedden@thayer.org) to schedule an interview.
Extended Day
- Weekly from June 20 thru August 11
- For all ages
Extended Day options are available for students of all ages in ALL programs and are supervised by a head counselor who is assisted by senior and junior counselors. Activities may include arts & crafts, board games, recreational swimming, and four square.
Morning Session: 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. ($60/week)
Breakfast is provided in the Dining Hall.
Early Afternoon Session: 2 to 4 p.m. ($75/week)
Held in Main Building for Lower Program children. Campers participate in activities for the remainder of the day. Snacks are provided.
Late Afternoon Session: 4 to 6 p.m. ($75/week)
Held on the Upper School campus. Snacks are provided.
Sports Camps
Camp Thayer's Sports Camps allow kids to learn and develop their athletic skills in a fun, friendly, non-competitive environment. Highly skilled instructors and coaches teach game strategies and offer a full range of instruction. (Lunch and free swim included)

Basketball Skills & Drills
Co-Ed, Grades 3-8
Week 5 (7/17 - 7/21) $515
Week 7 (7/31 - 8/4) $515
Mark Fiedor and his group of talented staff provide positive and informative instruction about the game of basketball. Come participate in dynamic skill drills and stations during the morning session. In addition, competitive scrimmages and games will round out the day and highlight what you have learned.
Lax & Crafts for Kids
Co-Ed, Ages 3.9-8
Week 6 (7/24 - 7/28) $515

Start your kids early learning the basics of lacrosse with experienced coaches and staff! Designed for the littlest ones. This camp covers the fundamentals and team interaction while developing athletic skills and coordination. Lunch and snacks provided; fun with arts & crafts and swimming in the afternoon.
Girls Lacrosse
Girls only, Grades 3-8
Week 5 (7/17 - 7/20, 4 days) $490
Note: this camp runs Monday through Thursday.
Girls Lacrosse camp is offered to players of all levels ages 9-14. Led by Thayer Varsity Girls Lacrosse Coach Anni Zukauskas '94 P ‘28, ‘29, our all-star staff is made up of stand-out current high school and college players—alongside top-tier high school coaches. All levels of talent and ability are welcome. Athletes will be evaluated and grouped based on skill level, and have fun competing in our infamous “Final Four Tournament” while improving their fundamental skill level, “lacrosse IQ,” fitness, and most importantly individual confidence. They also grasp the benefits of team work!
Boys Lacrosse
Due to staffing issues, the Boys Lacrosse program for Summer 2023 has been cancelled.
Specialty Camps
Theater Camps
Directed by Thayer Upper School Arts faculty Kelly Hines, John Crampton, and Dan Alosa, each production is custom written and musically arranged to feature all students in their best light and create a meaningful collaborative ensemble theatre experience. Students receive professional instruction in all foundational aspects of theatre arts – singing, dance, acting, and basic stagecraft. Large casts offer mentorship and support, and every student finds their moment to shine. All weeks have lunch and free swim included.

"Charlotte's Web"

Week 2 (6/26 - 6/30) $515
Join Charlotte, Fern, Wilbur, and the gang in the classic story of friendship, compassion, and finding your place in the world. With music by the writers of "Mary Poppins" and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," there will be something for everyone in this uplifting show as we focus our 9-13 year old performers on storytelling techniques for younger audiences
"Pure Imagination"
Grades 5-8, limit 40
Week 4 (7/10 - 7/14) $515
This week will feature a musical revue from the best of contemporary Broadway. Crafting our interpretations based on our cast, songs will include "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wonka, "Revolting Children" from Matilda, and "Freak Flag" from Shrek. Bring your creativity and BIG ideas.
"Kids Love Rock and Roll"
Grades 1-4, limit 35
Week 6 (7/24 - 7/28) $515
Camp Thayer theater explodes into song this summer with songs from Broadway's most exciting rock musicals. Our characters discover rock and roll music and share it with their town. So put on your blue suede shoes and get ready to air guitar! Songs include “I love rock and roll,” “Stick it to the man,” "We will rock you,” and “Don’t stop believin’”!
"Beauty and the Beast"
Grades 1-4, limit 35
Week 7 (7/31 - 8/4) $515
“Be our guest” this summer at Camp Thayer theater with wolves, dancing silverware, and magical roses! In this tale as old as time, Belle escapes the wolves (and that pesky Gaston!) as Lumiere lights the way through the Beast’s castle. Songs include “Belle,” “Gaston,” “Be our guest,” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
