Basketball - MS B Girls
Overview
Record: 5-1
Middle School teams are more developmental in nature and playing on a team offers not only a chance to enjoy the sport, but also a valuable participatory experience for each athlete. This applies to all team members from standouts to substitutes who play a supporting role. In keeping with the Thayer philosophy that athletics are an integral part of a student’s curriculum, students should plan their participation with the help of their advisors – this discussion will help everyone gain a better understanding of each child’s overall school program. All Middle School participants are expected to receive fairly equal playing time over the course of the entire season. All team information is available via www.thayer.org/

Sally Goldman
CoachSally’s love and dedication to the sport of tennis spans over 60 years and is still going strong today. Her accolades started at a young age when she played as the #1 for the Quincy High School Varsity team for 3 years and was awarded the prestigious William Hoblitzell Sportsmanship Award. She then went on to play collegiately for the Bentley College Men’s team and attained the #1 ranking in the USTA New England Women’s category. Sally, along with her husband Steve, are owners of the awarding winning Weymouth Club. They have three children who are all graduates of Thayer: Greg Goldman ’99, Diana Goldman McDevitt ’00, and Leah Goldman ’03. Diana was undefeated all four years at Thayer and was an All-American at Trinity College, while her sister, Leah, was part of the 2003 ISL Championship tennis team and played collegiately at Colby Sawyer. Sally came back to Thayer and joined the coaching staff, supporting former Head Coach Cathy Turpel as an Assistant and Head Girls’ JV Coach, in 2007 and took over as the Head Coach of the Girls' Varsity Tennis program in 2022.
