Brian Cibelli has been teaching English at Thayer Academy Middle School since 2014, and he has served as English department head since 2017. In 2021, he assumed the role of director of studies. Outside of the classroom, Cibelli coaches soccer in the fall and ice hockey in the winter.
Cibelli earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, followed by master’s degrees from SUNY Cortland (MAT in Adolescence Education: English) and Dartmouth College (MALS). Prior to his time at Thayer, he spent four years at Kent School where he taught English, served as a dorm head, and coached in a variety of capacities.
A native of Syracuse, New York, Cibelli lives in Winthrop with his wife Gabri and their three children.
