Strength & Conditioning Sessions
Led by Blair Bennett, TA Head Strength & Conditioning Coach
Open to Thayer Academy students only
This summer, we will be running two different strength and conditioning programs at Thayer Academy. Our first session (4:30-6:30pm) will accommodate our student athlete’s day-to-day obligations, during the session Thayer will host an “open gym” in the fitness center overseen by our certified strength and conditioning coach, Blair Bennett. Coach Bennett will be onsite to ensure each student-athlete gets their workout in. The second session is a pay-to-participate workout from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. focusing on sport specific strength training, mobility and conditioning. Each of these sessions will be approximately one hour long. The pay-to-participate sessions will be challenging at first, but the workouts are geared toward each individual's skill level with a focus on sports specific and athletic development.
Thayer's Strength & Conditioning program is directed by Blair Bennett. Coach Bennett is in his second year at Thayer and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA. He earned his MS in Exercise Science: Human Performance and is a licensed Physical Education teacher in Massachusetts. Coach Bennett has worked with every level of athlete and spent years in the college and private school setting before joining Thayer.
