As the school year came to a close the Thayer Academy Athletics Department held its Varsity Awards Dessert Night for spring sports teams in the Center for the Arts (CFA). 

Director of Athletics Bobbi Moran began the awards night by thanking seniors and team captains before also thanking all student-athletes, their families, coaches, and athletics department staff for their hard work and support. Moran spoke about the need for student-athletes to leave things — be they teams, spaces, classrooms, conversations, etc. — in a better state than when they first found them. 

“Leave it better,” Moran told the student-athletes. “What does that mean, and how will you leave Thayer Academy a better place?” 

Spring team captains offered one particular highlight of the May 19 celebration by addressing the crowd and sharing some thoughts about their respective seasons.
