Moses Flowers '19, an Academy alumnus currently attending the University of Hartford, was named that school's male Newcomer of the Year for his efforts on the basketball court.
A hoops standout at Thayer, Flowers averaged double digits in scoring while starting as a freshman point guard for the Hawks. The team was set to play the University of Vermont for the America East Championship — and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament — before the COVID-19 pandemic put an end to college sports seasons.
