University of Hartford names Flowers male Newcomer of the Year

Moses Flowers '19, an Academy alumnus currently attending the University of Hartford, was named that school's male Newcomer of the Year for his efforts on the basketball court.

A hoops standout at Thayer, Flowers averaged double digits in scoring while starting as a freshman point guard for the Hawks. The team was set to play the University of Vermont for the America East Championship — and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament — before the COVID-19 pandemic put an end to college sports seasons.
