MIDDLE SCHOOL ACCELERATED MATH PLACEMENT TESTING

Wednesday, June 11, 2025 | 3:30 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.

Accelerated Math Placement Test Information

Students entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade who feel their math ability might exceed the accelerated placement in their grade may take a placement test on Wednesday, June 11 at 3:30 p.m. This cumulative assessment test will measure whether they are ready for the next level accelerated earlier than their current grade level accelerated. Students must earn a 90% or better to be considered for the next level. Students will need to bring pencils and a calculator. The test will take 1.5 hours. Parents and guardians may pick up their students after the test concludes at 4:45 p.m.

Rising 6th graders would be tested on sixth grade math topics including: decimals, integers, metric units, exponents, fractions, 2-step equations, proportions, and percents.

Rising 7th graders would be tested on pre-algebra topics through and including graphing lines.

Rising 8th graders would be tested on Algebra 1 topics up through quadratics.

Again, this test is only for math students feeling they might place above their incoming grade level, not for accelerated placement in their grade.
