This summer, we hope you join us for a fun, relaxed and socially engaging time at Camp Thayer! Camp Thayer is for children, and is a place where dedicated teachers ensure to making the summer a fun, relaxed, and socially exciting one. The philosophy of our program is to provide children an opportunity to develop in an atmosphere of respect, trust, and friendship. MISSION Our mission is to provide children with an opportunity to develop in an atmosphere of respect, trust and friendship. LUNCH Lunch is provided in our air-conditioned dining hall. Water is available throughout the day. STAFF Our experienced head counselors are primarily teaching professionals, our senior counselors are generally college students, and our junior counselors are high school students. All members of the aquatic staff are certified lifeguards and water safety instructors.All members of the aquatic staff are certified lifeguards and water safety instructors. Our counselors are chosen for their dedication, enthusiasm, and ability to serve as positive role models. OUR PROGRAMS - including all sports camps - are intentionally non-competitive so that participants can strive for personal satisfaction and growth in whatever they do. Our diverse groups of campers bring their own unique talents and aptitudes to help create a fun and dynamic summer experience for all. Each week offers a different variety of Sports and Specialty Camps - from track & field and football, to photoshop and science. Those wishing to attend one or several weeks of General Camps (Weeks 1-8), can select from one of four options: Lower Camp (Ages 3.9-5) General Camp (Ages 6-13/Grades 1-8) CIT Program, counselors in training (Ages 14-16) Extended Day (For All Ages)
The Lower & General Camp sessions are complemented by a range of special events - which may include a Hawaiian luau, a carnival, and a battle of colors.
