Parents' Association
Mission
The mission of the Thayer Academy Parents’ Association is to enhance the Thayer community and to support students, faculty, and parents. The Association does this through annually-selected activities chosen by the Association and supported by parent volunteers.

The Association was founded as the Thayer Parents’ Club in the 1950’s to serve as liaison between families and the school, to support school activities and to advocate the Academy’s mission. The active involvement of parents in the Academy’s life fulfills the vision of the school’s founder, General Sylvanus Thayer, that interaction among students, teachers, and family is fundamental to a student’s personal growth and success.

Today's Parents' Association, in partnership with the Academy, has supported programs that help build a stronger community and clearly advocate the students’ best interests. Each fall, for example, Homecoming (Family Day) brings the entire Thayer Community together. Guest speakers supported by the Association deliver important messages that shape the character and awareness of Thayer’s students. See the calendar for all parent events.
