Tented Tailgate - Friday, Nov 3 Calling all sports fans for our tented tailgate! Spend your half-day on Friday afternoon supporting Thayer athletics at the Main Turf fields. On Monday, November 6, the Visiting Mexican Artists Program will visit Thayer Academy for presentations about the art and craft of Oaxacan woodcarving. The carvings on display may be purchased by teachers, staff and parents. All proceeds go directly to the artists. For more information, click here.

Senior Parent-Teacher Conferences -- Thursday, November 2 (3:30-6:30pm) Parents of seniors should have received an email earlier this week inviting them to Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, November 2. The letter included instructions detailing how to sign-up for conferences through Pick-A-Time. Parents can sign up until 6:00pm on Wednesday, November 1.

Notice to Parents of class of 2018: All photos are online as of last week. Seniors have been asked to select a pose for the yearbook . They are being told that if they don't choose their own photo by Nov 2 then we are asking parents to do so for them by no later than Nov 6. (So far only 37 seniors have complied.) After Nov. 6, the editors and adviser will be selecting the seniors' photos for our Nov 9th deadline.

7th Grade Community Service Day- On November 15 7th grade students will participate in community service projects in the Greater Boston area. The locations for this year include the Greater Boston Food Bank, Cradles for Crayons, Community Servings, and Heading Home Inc. Homeless Shelter. During their visits students will have an opportunity to explore the mission of the organization, increase awareness of the organization's impact on the community, and will participate in activities that will further the mission of these organizations. Students will receive location placement and specific permission forms/releases on Friday October 27. For your convenience, permission forms are available following the links below. Additional copies of the permission forms will be made available at the Middle School. Thanks for great MS participation at homecoming, 77% of the MS students came out to support the tigers and have a great day. A special congratulations to the 6th grade for leading the way with 96% attendance at homecoming, there will be a special 6th grade only dress down day on Monday, October 30th! Go Tigers!
Attention 8th Grade Parents. It is that time of year to support the Evergreen, the Middle School yearbook. The Evergreen is collecting a baby picture from each 8th grader to include in the yearbook. Digital pictures can be submitted electronically to email@example.com or actual photographs can be brought to school and given to Mr. Farwell. The deadline for baby pictures is Friday, October 27th. Also 8th grade families are offered the opportunity to purchase an ad in the yearbook to celebrate the accomplishments of a child or the class. Examples can be seen in any past yearbook. A HOMECOMING THANK YOU! Thank you to the parent volunteers, who helped make Homecoming 2017 a great success! Tiger pride was felt throughout this spirited day as we were all seeing black and orange. Your contributions created a fun, festive and organized day that brought hundreds of smiles to faces young and old. Thank you so much for all you did to make Homecoming an amazing day. Thanks, too, to all those who came to cheer on our student-athletes! You continued the tradition of Homecoming being a celebration of the Thayer community.
