Thayer Ice Hockey plays in the ISL Keller Division of the New England Prep School Division I Hockey League. This league is considered by college recruiters as one of the top prep school hockey leagues in the country. The better graduating players from the Keller Division will go on to play at the NCAA Division I and top Division III levels. Thayer is seeking student athletes with the determination and ability to play at the highest level of prep hockey.

LAST SEASON 2005-2006 Thayer posted a 12-10-16 record and finished 5th in the highly competitive Keller Division. Last season 2 players were all league; Ryan Driscoll (Holy Cross) and Greg Malley (Harvard).

FITNESS CENTER 2004 saw the completion of Thayer Academy’s new state of art 4,000 square-foot fitness center. The center houses; 3 free weights cages (for bench and squats), 17 cardio-vascular machines, a complete Cybex Circuit Trainer and 3 plasma TV’s. Providing supervision and instruction is
Rachel Sherblom
Fitness Director and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Rachele is a graduate of Northeastern University. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Cardiopulmonary and Exercise Science. Rachele has her certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Prior to her position at Thayer Academy, Rachele has worked with the strength team at Boston University training the Varsity Men’s Hockey team. Rachele teaches Science in the Middle School and runs the strength and conditioning camp in the summer at Thayer.
